Scholarship deadline
The deadline for applying for the fifth annual Morgan Gray Memorial Scholarship is April 30.
The $825 award, designated for Rowan County homeschooled students, was established to honor Morgan Gray, an 11-year-old homeschooled student killed in an automobile accident in 2001.
Applicants must be full-time students accepted by a college, university, nursing, business or trade school. They must also present evidence of good character through participation in extracurricular activities, including involvement in community affairs, church and employment. Proof of homeschooling during their junior and senior years is also required.
