North Rowan’s volleyball team won 25-22, 25-19, 22-25 and 25-17 at Southeast Guilford on Wednesday.
Defense keyed the win. Makala Lytton (27) and Demeria Robinson (22) combined for 49 digs.
Brianna White had seven kills and six blocks. Aliyah Farmer had nine kills. Chevy Blaire had four blocks and four kills. Caroline Billingsley had two blocks and two kills. Ashlyn Mills had five aces and 25 assists.
The North Hills varsity volleyball team defeated Piedmont Community Charter 25-19, 25-7 and 25-18 in a conference match.

Salisbury plays at Charlotte Catholic today.
• Carson opened SPC play with a 9-0 victory against Central Cabarrus.
Laura Isenhour, Sara Lentz, Erika Meadows, Gabi Jolly, Addie Gantt and Siera Fesperman won in singles for the Cougars.
Isenhour-Lentz, Meadows-Gantt and Jolly-Fesperman were the winning doubles teams.
• Davie got singles wins from Ryan Shelton, Jennifer Ngo, Tatum Edwards, Emma Etter, Claire Myers and Annie Kinder and beat West Rowan 9-0 on Wednesday.
Moriah Lane-Brooke Summers, Molly Hartness-Grace Nixon and Jordan Taylor-Loren Myers were the winning doubles teams.

Sixty-seven GARS members played in foursomes in a Texas Scramble at Crescent.
The first-place team of Grady Howard, Doug Lingle, Les Loman and Ernest Wagner shot minus-8.
The team of Donnie Burris, Gary Morgan and Mickey Ousley shot-6 and tied with the team of Ron Ervin, Don Martin, Guy Schenk and Gary Schenk for second.
The team of Bobby Clark, Clive Mahaffey, Winsten Mahaffey and Tom Talbert shot minus-5.
Erwin’s girls defeated Corriher-Lipe on Tuesday for their first victory of the season. Winners in singles and doubles were Lauren Weisensel, Kristen Brady, Victoria Plyler, Riane Richardson, Serenity McKnight and Sage Fann.
Sacred Heart opened the varsity soccer season with wins over Park Ridge Christian (6-2) and North Hills Christian (7-0).
In the win against Park Ridge, Luke Holland scored three goals. Sean Archer, Patrick Taylor and William Austin had a goal each.
Against North Hills, Holland scored four goals. Juan Salazar scored two goals and Archer had one. Bill Fisher, Jack Fisher, Spencer Blackwell and keeper Reilly Ploplis led the Dolphins’ defense.
The Dolphins are coached by Marcel Renn and assistant Max Fisher. Sacred Heart begins conference play this week.

FCA
North Rowan basketball coaches Andrew Mitchell and Brian Lytton are the club sponsors for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at North Rowan.
An important FCA fundraiser is upcoming.
The Harlem Wizards (similar to Harlem Globetrotters) will be entertaining and playing area teachers, principals and alumni from several of the schools in the county. This combined team will be called the Rowan All-Stars. Game day is Sunday, Sept. 21, at the North Rowan Gym. The doors will open at 3 p.m. and the game begins at 4 p.m.
Tickets are available at North Rowan Elementary, North Rowan Middle and North Rowan High and online at www.harlemwizards.com.
Student tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Adult tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Reserved section tickets are available for $20. Also, there are a limited number of courtside seats for $30. The courtside seat will includ a meet and greet with the Wizards beginning at 3 p.m. the day of the event, a Wizard team poster for autographs and a meal voucher for one free meal at the North Rowan Booster Club concession stand.
The concession stand will be selling grilled hamburgers and hot dogs along with other foods. All money raised by the boosters will benefit the athletic department at North Rowan.
Parking will be $5. All money from parking will go directly to the basketball program.
The FCA Club is currently organizing a fall food drive. The club members will also be participating in other service type projects within the county throughout the school year.
