Food distribution Thursday
There will be a food distribution on Thursday for Rowan County residents only at the Salisbury Civic Center, 315 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., 9 a.m.-1 p.m. or until all the food is gone. Items distributed include meat.
Food stamp recipients should bring the letters the received in the mail. All others who do not receive food stamps can come to Salisbury Civic Center because they may also be eligible to receive the free food. However, they must disclose their total gross monthly household income.
Following are examples of the income guidelines:
Family of one person: $1,107; two persons: 1,484; four persons: $ 2,238; six persons: $2,992.
Available food items include: frozen ground beef, frozen ham, apple juice, corn, green beans, cling peaches, rice, macaroni.
The distribution is sponsored by the Altrusa Club of Salisbury and the Salisbury Parks and Recreation Department.
