Authorities charged two Salisbury men with drug possession after serving a warrant at Willow Oaks Apartments.
Salisbury Police officers went to an apartment there Wednesday to locate Labryan Hawkins. When officers knocked on the door, it was unlocked and opened, a department report said.
Officers found Hawkins was seated on a chair inside and arrested him. Searching Hawkins, officers found 37.4 grams of crack cocaine in his right front pants pocket, along with $561 in cash, the report said.
Hawkins, 21, of 615 Linn Lane, is charged with trafficking in cocaine.
Police also arrested Herbert Ellis Jr., who was also at the apartment. Officers searched Ellis and found 8.1 grams of crack cocaine in the waistband of his underwear, according to the report.
The report said officers also noticed a bag of what they suspected to be marijuana on the kitchen table.
Ellis, 29, of 1300 Old Concord Road, Apartment 8, is charged with possession with the intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Hawkins remains in the Rowan County Detention Center under $2,500 bond. Ellis has been released from the jail after posting a $2,500 bond.
