CHINA GROVE ó Police charged a China Grove man with breaking into a Rose Avenue home Dec. 19 and taking prescription drugs and coins.Aaron Lane Gilley, 22, of 132 Second Ave. was charged with second-degree burglary and felony larceny and placed under $10,000 bond.
The burglary occurred at the home of Richard C. Engelhard of 235 Rose Ave. between 9 and 11 p.m. Dec. 19, reports said.Officer L.A. Stutts of the China Grove Police Department investigated.
In another arrest, the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office charged William Ray Russell, 42, of 2175 Mary St., China Grove, with possession with the intent to manufacture, sell and distribute a Schedule IV controlled substance.
He is accused of having 42 dosage units of Xanax and was placed under $2,000 bond.
The first appearances in Rowan County District Court for both Gilley and Russell will be Monday morning.
