Staff reportSomeone broke into a local pharmacy and stole thousands of dollars worth of pain medications, authorities said.
An employee at Salisbury Pharmacy discovered a broken glass door around 9 a.m. Monday.
A Salisbury Police Department report said the burglar took 15 bottles of the painkiller hydrocodone. Investigators estimate the street value at around $75,000.
John Post, the pharmacy’s chief operating officer, said Tuesday morning that he was at the 1431 W. Innes St. location around 7 a.m. Monday, but went straight into his office. A pharmacist actually saw the shattered glass on the floor near a side entrance.
“I’m upset that that many medicines have hit the street. It’s sad that they’re out there,” Post said.
