East poetry award
East Rowan High School has received a $500 award for its participation in a program designed to encourage students to write poetry.
Each year, Pine Tree Poetry Inc., a North Carolina publishing company, invites schools across the country to submit student poetry for publication. The award is given to the school in each state which submits the most entries. Pine Tree encourages the schools to use it for library materials.
All poems submitted are reviewed, with the best selected for publication in Pine Tree Poetry Collection. Each participating school receives a free copy of the book.
Individual students through high school age may also submit work for consideration. For more information, visit www.pinetreepoetry.com.
