KANNAPOLIS ó The Kannapolis Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Saturday at a mobile home at 2002 Angela Lane.
The call came at 6:45 p.m., and when they arrived, firefighters found fire and smoke coming from the home.
They worked quickly to ensure that surrounding structures were safe. No injuries were reported, and the damage was estimated at $24,000.
The fire was caused by a Christmas tree igniting after the lights were left on.
