A cash box containing only $50 was stolen during a break-in at a local business, according to the Salisbury Police Department.
The burglar broke a picture window the night of Dec. 29 to enter Nationwide Insurance, 214 E. Innes St. and steal the cash box.

– Chernell Nicole Graham reported her pocketbook was stolen from her vehicle while it was parked at 2129 Statesville Blvd. Dec. 30.
– Hillery Gene Johnson reported vandals damaged his vehicle while it was parked at 3110 Corliss St. Dec. 30.
– Avis Levette Heggins reported her vehicle stolen Dec. 30 from 1125 Grady St.
– Mira Dills reported items stolen from her vehicle while it was parked at 2129 Statesville Blvd. Dec. 30.
– A burglar broke into Urban Styles, 1030 Freeland Drive Dec. 30.
– Vandals damaged property Dec. 30 at Bank of America, 500 W. Innes St.
– Alejandro Cruz Gomez, 104 Town Court, reported the Dec. 30 theft of his vehicle stolen from his home.
– Anway Ameen Jackson reported his wallet and other items valued at $300 were stolen Dec. 30 from his room at the Happy Traveler Inn, 1420 E. Innes St.
– Luis Lopez Aguilar, 301 Rowan Mill Road, reported cash stolen during a Dec. 30 burglary at his home.
– Someone tried to break into a Sundrop Bottling Co. drink machine Dec. 31 at 2144 Statesville Blvd.
– Melissa Anne Allen reported items stolen after someone broke into her vehicle while it was parked at 305 Eastwood Drive the night of Dec. 30.
– Someone broke windows in two vehicles and stole stereos out of both of them Dec. 31 at Pethel’s Used Cars, 500 S. Main St.
– Bismi Jahaad Powell, 18, 3025 Eastway Drive, Charlotte, was charged Dec. 31 with felony robbery with firearms or other dangerous weapons and felony possession of firearms by a felon at 100 Clancy St., Apartment 124C. He was held under $100,000 secured bond pending a first appearance in court.
– Carl Maxwell Smith, 20, 120E Clancy St., was charged Dec. 31 with resisting, delaying and obstructing a public officer. He was held under $500 secured bond pen ding a Jan. 28 trial date.
– Eric Allen Koontz reported a burglar broke into 429 N. Main St. between Dec. 28 and 31 and stole medications.
– Vandals damaged property between Dec. 22 and 31 at McCoy & Hillard CPAs, 723 W. Innes St.
– Denise Larose reported property damaged and stolen between Dec. 22 and 31 at 215 Lash Drive.
– James Arness Outlaw, 41, 207 Henderlite St., was charged Dec. 31 with assault on a female, resisting, delaying and obstructing a public officer and failing to appear in court. He was held pending a bond hearing. Trial date is Jan. 29.
– Joshua Kellyn Spencer reported items stolen from his vehicle while it was parked at 1710 Old Wilkesboro Road Dec. 31.
– Garrietta Deshawn Patterson, 217 S. Caldwell St., reported someone tried to break into her home Dec. 31.
– Marcia Claire Lewis, 27, 810 S. Main St., No. 13B, was charged Dec. 31 with second-degree trespassing at 1020 E. Lafayette St. and resisting, delaying and obstructing a public officer. She was held under $1,000 secured bond pending a Feb. 5 trial date.
– A masked robber with a hand gun took money from the cash register at Little Caesar’s Pizza, 2143 Statesville Blvd., Dec. 31.
– Brian Shondale Oglesby, 28, 306 Pearl St., was charged Dec. 31 at 1959 Sherwood St. with assault on a female based on a complaint by Rhonna Oglesby. He was held pending a bond hearing. Trial date is Jan. 28.
– Someone shot a handgun within the city limits Dec. 31 at 1054 Old Plank Road.
– Maria Louise Cunningham, 25, 3822 S. U.S. 601, Mocksville, was charged Jan. 1 with misdemeanor larceny at 525 W. Jake Alexander Blvd. She was held under $800 secured bond pending a Jan. 28 trial date.
– A 31-year-old male was assaulted Jan. 1 at 413 N. Church St.
– April Dawn Hall, 25, 986 Cold Water St., Kannapolis, was charged Jan. 1 with simple possession of a Schedule III controlled substance, possession of up to ć ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia at 1518 E. Innes St. She was held under $1,000 secured bond pending a Jan. 28 trial date.
– Chloe Shuping, 17, 2386 Statesville Blvd., was charged Jan. 1 with possession of drug paraphernalia at the intersection of East Lafayette and North Long streets. She was held under $100 secured bond pending a Feb. 25 trial date.
– Contonya Butler reported a $400 digital camera stolen from her vehicle while it was parked at 736 Pinehurst St. Jan. 1.
– Jessica Monique Robinson reported vandals broke four windows in her vehicle while it was parked at 715 Hall St. Jan. 1.
– Mary Catherine Vollmer, 1712 Hampshire Drive, reported her dog was stolen from her back yard Jan. 1.
– Mary Graves Wymbs, 203 Mitchell Ave., reported the Jan. 1 theft of her purse from her home.
– Stacey Ellen Price, 907 S. Jackson St., reported items stolen during a burglary at her home the night of Dec. 31.
– Alan Schlaback, 428 Lincolnton Road, reported items stolen during a burglary at his home between Dec. 22 and Jan. 1.
– Timothy Austin Hall, 39, was charged Dec. 30 with felony larceny at 1935 Stokes Ferry Road.
– Antonio Montreal Chambers, 19, 317 N. Boundary St., was charged Dec. 31 with resisting, delaying and obstructing a public officer, no operator’s license and failing to appear in court. He was held under $22,500 secured bond pending a first appearance in court.
– Jose Chavez Fernandez, 55, 715 Victory St., was charged Dec. 31 with resisting, delaying and obstructing a public officer in the parking lot at the Holiday Inn, 530 S. Jake Alexander Blvd. He was held under $500 secured bond pending a Feb. 11 trial date.
– Jerad Travis Hager, 19, 335 Mike Drive, was charged Jan. 1 with resisting, delaying and obstructing a public officer and assault on a government official. He was held under $1,000 secured bond pending a Jan. 14 trial date.
– Jeremiah Dayquan Howie, 16, 518 E. Bank St., was charged Jan. 1 with resisting, delaying and obstructing a public officer at the intersection of North Boundary Street and Park Avenue. He was held under $500 secured bond pending a Feb. 12 trial date.
– William Greyson Bumgarner, 20, 450 Weaver Road, China Grove, was charged Jan. 2 with felony possession of crack cocaine following a vehicle stop in the 400 block of East Innes Street. He was held under $1,000 secured bond pending a first appearance in court.
– Steven Driggers, 35, 1006 Oakmont Court, was charged Jan. 2 with felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and driving while impaired following a vehicle stop in the 400 block of East Innes Street. He was held under $1,000 secured bond pending a first appearance in court.
– Rebecca Marie Dalton reported someone used her debit card fraudulently Jan. 2 at the Pop Shoppe, 1509 E. Innes St.
– A sexual molestation reported Jan. 2 on Standish Street is under investigation.
– Kevin Scott Hammond, 20, was charged Jan. 1 with simple assault/simple assault and battery or affray at 127 S. Main St.
– Tiffany Evette Worthy, 25, 1328B W. Horah St., was charged Jan. 1 with communicating threats based on a complaint by Monica Tyson, 610 S. Church St. Worthy was released on a written promise to appear in court Feb. 14.
– A undetermined number of tires were stolen during a burglary at Firestone Tire, 1014 E. Innes St., the night of Jan. 2.
– Wayne Zachary Holshouser III, 23, 121 Coley Road, Granite Quarry, was charged Jan. 3 with misdemeanor larceny, misdemeanor credit card fraud and felony financial transaction card fraud. He is accused of stealing Shawne Michelle Stauffer’s purse from 216 Julian Road, and using a credit card later at Food Lion on Faith Road. He was held under $1,000 secured bond pending a Jan. 7 trial date.
– Hector Joaquin Torres, 51, 211 Ridge Ave., No. 362, was charged Jan. 3 with misdemeanor shoplifting of $5 worth of canned goods from Family Dollar, 410 E. Innes St. He was released on a written promise to appear in court Feb. 4.
– A Jan. 3 embezzlement of $500 from the office at Chick-fil-A, 902 E. Innes St., is under investigation.
– A Jan. 4 rape is under investigation.
– James Jermaine Little, 629 Marsh St., reported someone shot the glass out of his front storm door Jan. 4. Damage totaled $100.
