Holiday greenery, classic Victorian finery and period decorations are features at the Dr. Josephus W. Hall House open house. The house, built in 1820, is filled with holiday decorations in every room designed by local groups and individuals.
The highlight of the tour is the 12-foot Christmas tree in the family living room, which is drenched with period ornaments and candles. The family living room was decorated by Chad and Hilda Morgan.
The formal parlor, decorated by the Rowan Symphony Society, features musical instruments.
Rowan Master Gardeners decorated the dining room with live plants and greenery.
The Children’s Room is filled with dolls provided by the Rowan Doll Society.
Hall’s bedroom decorations are designed by Leslie Black and another bedroom by the residents of Olde Salisbury.
Docent Hilda Ramseur introduced the museum’s latest addition: earrings and pins made from human hair by Mary Cowan Hall and donated by Sarah Arrington Linn.
