Another mother and son face burglary charges

A mother and son from Gold Hill were charged Saturday with breaking into a home on High Rock Road and stealing hydrocodone pills, cigarettes and cash.
Charged with breaking, entering and larceny are Angela Shue Honeycutt, 35, and Austin Dwayne Honeycutt, both of Gold Hill.
A report from the Rowan County Magistrate’s Office alleges that the pair broke into the home of Ralph Ritchie at 4070 High Rock Road, Gold Hill, on Friday.
The mother also is charged with possession with the intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a controlled substance. She had 36 pills of Clonopan, the report said.
She also is accused of resisting an officer.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office investigated.
Angela Honeycutt was placed under $3,500 bond; her son, $2,500 bond.
Their first appearance in court will be Monday.
In another incident, Salisbury Police charged Laura Smith Johnson, 37, of 140 Norris Drive, with assault by strangulation.
She is accused of choking Karen M. Olvera of 11815 Stokes Ferry Road, Gold Hill, Nov. 9 and leaving scratches and bruises around Olvera’s neck.
Johnson was placed under $1,000 bond.
