N.C. Conference for Women coming in January

Charlotte Ńü Lisa Ling, Susan L. Taylor, Alek Wek and Jean Chatzky are among a group of women speaking at the third annual North Carolina Conference for Women on Jan. 28, 2009, at the Charlotte Convention Center.
More than 2,000 women are expected to convene for this experience of dialogue and networking.
Registration is now open.
With themes of wisdom, compassion and power, more than 30 speakers will address topics including career, money, world, well-being, environment and relationships.
The conference is unveiling an awards initiative to permanently recognize women for a lifetime of accomplishments and contributions in the state of North Carolina.
The North Carolina Women’s Hall of Fame will induct its first class during the afternoon general session. The recipients will be announced prior to the conference.
Throughout the day, an expo will offer the opportunity to network, market products and share information. The day is designed to appeal to and be inclusive of all women, whether one is a corporate representative, community leader, entrepreneur, nonprofit leader, homemaker or a student.
A limited number of scholarships are available and there are special rates for students and mother/daughter tickets.
