Education: Catawba College fair Thursday, open house Nov. 8

Catawba College will host a College Fair Thursday for all Rowan County high schools in the Peeler Crystal Lounge of the Robertson College-Community Center.
Students from Davie and Davidson County high schools are also invited.
More than 55 institutions, colleges and universities from North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee will have admissions representatives present. They represent traditional four-year schools as well as Rowan-Cabarrus Community College and other community colleges, and specialty institutions, such as the Armed Forces or culinary schools.
Rowan County juniors and seniors will be bused from their high schools to attend the college fair from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
Any student or members of the general public may attend between 6 and 7:30 p.m. that evening.
Catawba open house
Catawba College will hold an open house Nov. 8 to allow prospective students to tour the campus, meet faculty, coaches, current students and parents.
Special sessions are scheduled on topics including academic resources, athletics, career services, financial aid, the CollegeĆs First-Year Experience and its Honors program, student life and study abroad opportunities.
Registration is from 8:15-9 a.m. in the Peeler Crystal Lounge of the Robertson College-Community Center. A free lunch in the campus dining hall will conclude the event.
