A Spencer teenager sustained a gunshot wound to his leg Wednesday afternoon, but police aren’t sure exactly how or where the shooting occurred.
Antonio Rashun Lee, 18, was treated at Rowan Regional Medical Center for a gunshot wound to his thigh.
Hospital officials contacted the East Spencer Police Department after he said he was shot while riding a bicycle on Boundary Street in East Spencer.
Friends took him to the emergency room.
A bullet recovered from the wound was turned over to police.
J.M. Reep, interim police chief in East Spencer, launched an investigation.
Later, Reep said it appears the shooting occurred in Salisbury and involved shots fired from a vehicle.Salisbury Police confirmed responding to reports of shots in the area of 14th Street around 3 p.m. Wednesday but did not have complete details.
Lee, the victim, was treated at the hospital and released.
