Salisbury man arrested on credit-card charges

A Salisbury man was placed under $20,000 secured bond Sunday after being charged with nine counts of obtaining property by false pretense.
Paul Leveren Davis, 27, of 2340 Grace Church Road allegedly used a credit card belonging to Chris Drye of Drye’s Auto Crushing to obtain cash and merchandise from nine area service stations, according to arrest reports. Davis was charged with using the card at the Wilco Hess No. 364 in Salisbury; BP, Rushco of East Innes Street.; Shell Gas Mart of East Innes; Exxon/Mobil of East Innes; Mikey’s No. 1 Gas Mart of 5810 S. Main St.; Hot Spot Gas Mart of 5715 S. Main; Pop Shoppe Gas Mart of 1509 E. Innes; Reids Citgo Gas Mart of 110 Andrews St., East Spencer; and Hills Minnow Farm Gas Mart of 7940 Bringle Ferry Road.
Davis is scheduled for a Sept. 30 first-appearance hearing in Rowan County District Court.
