Lauren Elisa Smith of Kannapolis graduated May 16 from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She received a bachelor of science degree in human nutrition and wellness with a minor in public health.
Smith was the recipient of the S. Virginia Wilson and Food & Nutrition scholarships.
She was a four-year member of the Undergraduate Nutrition Club, which she served as secretary, president-elect and president. She was a member of Student Government and Nutrition Club representative in the House of Representatives. She also led the Campus Improvement Committee.
A 2004 graduate of East Rowan High School, she is the daughter of Robert E. and Susan O. Smith of Rockwell. She is engaged to Joshua A. Jones of Kannapolis.
She work at PetSmart in Concord and plans to pursue a master’s degree in public health.
