The wife of deceased Salisbury dentist Dr. David Boyd has reopened her husband’s office on a part-time basis.
Dr. Kathleen Boyd, a Salisbury endodontist, said she’s hired a retired Greensboro dentist, Dr. David Parsons, who will operate her husband’s practice three days a week ó Monday through Wednesday.
The practice reopened this week.
“We’ve reorganized the business and updated,” Boyd said. “In order to take care of our patients, Dr. Parsons has committed to a three-day work week.”
She said the name of her husband’s former practice has been changed to Bright Smile Dental. Boyd also said the practice will be offered for sale.
But she said Parsons’ commitment to the office will mean her husband’s former patients won’t be neglected.
“We’re trying to keep the same patients and, for the most part, the existing staff,” Boyd said.
The phone number for the business, located at 644 Statesville Blvd., is 704-636-1533.
David Boyd, 47, was murdered in his family’s house at 9 Pine Tree Road on June 26. His wife and children were at the beach at the time of his death.
Police have charged three ó Christopher Boyd, 21, Jonathan Barnett, 18, and Candice Drye, 23 ó with the dentist’s murder.
Warrants for a search of Boyd’s house and office allege that the dentist was trading drugs for sexual favors. The State Bureau of Investigation began an investigation of Boyd about two weeks prior to his death.
