Police: Man assaulted two with pocket knife

CHINA GROVE ó Police arrested a man Saturday night for assaulting two people with a pocket knife.
Donnie Thomas Talbert, 51, of 117 Elm St., China Grove, faces two counts of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, according to an arrest warrant from the Rowan County Magistrate’s Office.
He faced a $10,000 bond.
According to the warrant, China Grove Police arrested Talbert on charges of using a small pocket knife to assault Terry Delane Oxendine and Misty Russell Triplett.
Police were dispatched to 117 Elm Street late Saturday night, according to emergency communications radio traffic.
A dispatcher stated that one person was stabbed in the neck and the other was stabbed in the arm.
The extent of Oxendine’s and Triplett’s injuries was unclear.
On Sunday, China Grove Police Chief Hodge Coffield said he did not have access to information about the case.
