CHINA GROVE ó An apparently well-planned heist netted a big haul from Porky’s restaurant early today.
Two men wearing ski masks went in a back door which had been left open by someone cleaning up the restaurant around 1:10 a.m.
One of the men watched the employee while the other went to the safe, which was locked. He quickly opened the safe and emptied it of the contents.
The men then used duct tape to tape the employee to the kitchen sink. He was able to get free within minutes and call 911.
Neither of the men displayed a gun or other weapon.
Police Chief Hodge Coffield asked anyone with information to contact police at 704-857-7755.
Both men are described as being white and in their mid-20s.
One who was dressed in camouflage clothing was described as around 5 foot 7 inches, weighing about 200 pounds.
The second man, who was dressed completely in black, is described as 6 foot 2 inches weighing 160 to 170 pounds.
