WINSTON-SALEM ó Even though he’s not starting for Wake Forest, freshman Ari Stewart has become a key player in the Demon Deacons’ recent success.
Stewart scored 16 points in 19 minutes to lead five players in double figures as Wake Forest won its second straight game, rolling past Elon 90-50 on Sunday.
Al-Farouq Aminu added 11 points and 10 rebounds, Ishmael Smith and Gary Clark each scored 12 points and L.D. Williams had 10 for the Demon Deacons (6-2). Wake Forest went from a 13-point margin at the half to lead by as many as 44 points in the second half.
Clemson 82, Furman 53CLEMSON, S.C. ó Trevor Booker had season highs with 25 points and 14 rebounds, and Clemson beat Furman for the 27th straight time, 82-53, on Sunday.
The Tigers (8-2) had a week off since beating rival South Carolina on Dec. 6 and that freshness showed throughout against the Paladins (5-3). Booker hit eight of his first nine shots as Clemson led 43-26 at the break.
Booker left the game for good after breaking up a midcourt pass and taking a feed from Andre Young for a crowd-pleasing jam with 5:44 left.

BOSTON ó Keith Cothran scored 19 points and Delroy James added 15 to lead Rhode Island to an 80-69 win over Boston College on Sunday night.

PHILADELPHIA ó Juan Fernandez hit seven 3-pointers and scored a career-high 33 points and Ryan Brooks added 20 points in the Owls’ first win over a top-five team since beating No. 1 Cincinnati on Feb. 20, 2000.
