Dead man identified

A 30-year-old Salisbury man who was stabbed to death early today in a mobile home off Hurley School Road has been identified at Willie Glen Woodard III.
The Rowan Sheriffís Office is questioning Elizabeth Fesperman Whitley, 51, who lived at the same address, 13 Highland Park Drive.
Capt. John Sifford said the stabbing appeared to be domestic in nature.
Deputies responded to a 911 call at 2:15 a.m. today reporting a stabbing at 13 Highland Park Drive.
Sifford said Rowan County Sheriffís deputies arrived on the scene to find the door of the trailer standing open. Inside, they found Whitley, who was visibly upset and on a cell phone.
She told deputies there had been an ongoing argument.
Deputies and Rowan EMS paramedics found Woodard lying on a mattress on the living room floor. He appeared to have a wound to the chest area. A knife was located nearby on the floor.
He was transported to Rowan Regional Medical Center and pronounced dead at 3:08 a.m.
Investigators have consulted with the Rowan County District Attorney’s Office.
Sifford said charges are likely upon completion of the investigation.
