April Robbins Pittman graduated in July from Pennsylvania College of Optometry with a doctorate of audiology.

A 1997 graduate of North Rowan High School, Pittman received a bachelor of science degree in communication disorders from Appalachian State University in 2001 and a master of arts degree in communication sciences and disorders from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2003.

She plans to open Salisbury Audiology and Hearing Aid Services, a private practice, in January.

She and husband Jerry live in Salisbury and have one child, Grayce, 6 months. Her parents are Benjamin and Cathy Robbins of Salisbury.
