A Salisbury teenager has been charged with assaulting a man with a hunting knife while attempting to steal his moped.
Jonathan Elijah Ijames, 16, of 418 S. Boundary St. was charged Monday and placed under $75,000 secured bond pending a first-appearance hearing today in Rowan County District Court, according to arrest reports.
He was charged with attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon — a double-edged, fixed-blade hunting knife — and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, the report said. The moped was owned by Guy Anthony Taylor, who was injured in the assault.
The moped was valued at $3,000.
