CHARLOTTE (AP) — The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District, along with state and local law enforcement officials, are bringing attention to human trafficking and efforts to fight it.
Law enforcement agencies, the Junior League of Charlotte and community advocates are scheduled to hold a news conference Friday at the league’s headquarters at 10 a.m.
Officials will speak on initiatives by law enforcement and private groups to raise awareness, build on existing systems and produce a coordinated response to human trafficking.
Among those expected to address the news conference are U.S. Attorney Anne M. Tompkins and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Chief Rodney Monroe.
