North Rowan’s boys basketball team advanced to the state championship game with a 58-56 win against Smoky Mountain in the 2A West final Sunday afternoon.
North’s Michael Bowman won Regional MVP after scoring 19 points and hitting the go-ahead layup in the final minute. The Cavaliers will play East champ Kinston next Saturday at Reynolds Coliseum for the state crown.
