People considering a run for public office this fall could learn the ins and outs of municipal leadership at a Candidate Academy being offered Tuesday at Catawba College.
The Rowan County Chamber of Commerce, the Salisbury Post and Catawba are co-sponsoring the information session, which is free and open to the public.
It will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Ketner Hall, Room, 201.Dr. Michael Bitzer of the Catawba faculty will lead a short session on town board office duties and tips for effective campaigning. A panel discussion among former elected officials is also planned.
July 6-20 is the filing period for this year’s municipal races. Election Day is Nov. 6.
