A Stanly County man was arrested Thursday after deputies said he severely abused his 3-year-old son.
Danny Ray Self, 25, of 559 Tanner Road, Richfield, is charged with felony child abuse inflicting severe bodily injury.
According to arrest reports, 3-year-old Dusty Ray Self had facial lacerations extending from his nose to his left eye. The lacerations required emergency surgery, according to reports.
Self is in the Rowan County Detention Center under $25,000 bond.
His first appearance in court is Monday.
