By Holly Fesperman LeeSalisbury PostKannapolis Police are searching for a man they say broke into a woman’s house Tuesday night and attacked her at gunpoint.
Warrants have been issued for Henry Lee Bost, 25, whose last known address was 28 Carolina Ave., Concord. He is wanted for first-degree burglary, robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm by a felon and assault by strangulation.
Pearl Wagstaff of 310 Odell St. told police she was in bed and heard glass break on her back porch. She armed herself with a handgun and waited.
She told police she saw a light outside her locked bedroom door. The man forced open the door, came into her bedroom with a shotgun and attacked her.
During the attack, Wagstaff fired one shot from the handgun. Police don’t know if Bost was wounded.
Wagstaff managed to get away and locked herself in another room until police arrived.Kannapolis Police Sgt. Kenneth Jackson said Bost and Wagstaff do know each other.
Wagstaff owns rental property and Bost is a tenant, Jackson said. He added that Bost was about to be evicted from that property.
Wagstaff was taken to NorthEast Medical Center and treated for minor injuries.
Bost has a string of prior convictions in Cabarrus County including robbery with a dangerous weapon, driving while impaired and driving while license revoked.
