Salisbury will soon have a new high-end restaurant.
Luke Livengood and Wesley Stokes are partners in Castaways Seafood Restaurant and Oyster Bar, which will be located at 1515 Barringer St., previously the El Vallarta Mexican Restaurant and originally a Quincy’s steak house.
Stokes and Livengood said Monday they are shooting for an opening date in late February.
Since November, the restaurant building has been undergoing a complete interior renovation.
Castaways will include an 80-foot-long oyster bar and a full-service bar for drinks.
The restaurant will have seating for 220, when large banquet rooms are included.
Castaways will specialize in grilled and steamed seafood, including fish, oysters, crab legs, scallops and more. Castaways also will have its own lobster tank.
Steak and chicken will be part of the menu, too.
Livengood is an experienced chef who has been in the restaurant business for eight years. Stokes is a general contractor who has overseen the Castaways project.
Livengood says the restaurant will fill a niche for people who have traveled out of town for similar dining experiences in the past.
The restaurant will be open for dinner, not lunch.
Merritt-Innes Inc. owns the building, and Wallace Realty manages and leases the property.
