Dr. Phyllis Post of Salisbury will speak at the first University of North Carolina Charlotte Center for Play Therapy Conference this week.
“Helping Children through Play Therapy” will take place Wednesday through Friday at the UNCC Health and Human Services Building, in room 159.
Post will speak Friday with Teresa Miller on addressing diversity in child-centered play therapy. Post is a professor and coordinator of the doctoral program in the department of counseling at the UNCC.Her special areas of interest are play therapy and skills training in counseling.
Presenting Wednesday and Thursday (“Adlerian Play Therapy and Kinder Therapy”) is Dr. JoAnna White, professor and chair of the department of counseling and psychological services at Georgia State University. White is a former president of the Association for Play Therapy. She has published more than 50 research articles and numerous books and book chapters.
The registration fee is $90 per day or $240 for all three days. The registration deadline has passed, but walk-ins will be accommodated as space allows.
