Optometry scholarship
Jennifer Elizabeth Lyerly has been awarded a four-year Deans Endowed Scholarship to attend Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tenn.
Lyerly graduated May 12 from N.C. State University in Raleigh as a valedictorian with a degree in biological sciences. A 2003 graduate of West Forsyth High School, she is the daughter of Jack and Martha Lyerly of Clemmons. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Charles R. Douglas of Salisbury and the late Charles R. Douglas and the late Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Lyerly, who were residents of Spencer.
