Staff Report
Emily Ward is Rowan-Cabarrus Community Colleges Teacher of the Year.
The college honored Ward, a teacher in the nursing program, at a breakfast Friday sponsored by the Rowan County Chamber of Commerce.
A registered nurse, Ward holds an associates degree from Guilford Technical Community College, a bachelor of science in nursing and a masters degree from Gardner Webb University.
She joined the Rowan-Cabarrus faculty in 2003 and teaches basic nursing concepts, delivery of nursing care and management of care.
Its a privilege to work for a college that allows me to expand my love of nursing and education, Ward said at the breakfast. In this age of a nursing shortage, it is critical we produce nurses that are not only adequately prepared but are able to critically think through any situation that arises.
