Livingstone college leaders celebrated

The Annual Fund — United Negro College Fund — will host its sixth annual “Share Your Love” service tonight in celebration of Livingstone College leaders. A banquet will be held at 6 p.m. on the college campus in the William J. Trent Gymnasium.
Reserve seating is available for $150 and general seating is $100.
This year’s honorees include: Lola L. Bates, a servant leader from John Wesley A.M.E. Zion Church, the National Church of Zion Methodism, in Washington, DC; the Right Rev. Warren M. Brown, presiding Bishop, Mid-Atlantic II, African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church; Grace McMullen Henderson-Littlejohn, alumnus of Livingstone College and a librarian; the Right Rev. Nathaniel Jarrett Jr., presiding bishop, Mid-Atlantic I, African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church; the Honorable Susan Wear Kluttz, mayor, Salisbury; Dwight “Dyke” Messinger, president/CEO, Power Curbers Inc.; Arlene Constance Lamberth Pinnix-Morrow, retired educator, chair, Lexington/Thomasville committee, United Negro College Fund Drive — Livingstone College; retired Rear Adm. Larry Poe, Central Intelligence Agency and United States Navy; and Geraldine Jackson Walker, missionary supervisor, Piedmont Episcopal District, African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church.
This annual event is a fund raiser for The UNCF and all contributions are tax-deductible. According to an event organizer, “The individuals nominated and inducted into the Hall of Fame are those that have given tirelessly of themselves as they serve their communities and/or their profession and have demonstrated the qualities of a servant leader.”
