Kannapolis takes applications for council seat

KANNAPOLIS ó The city will be accepting applications for the vacant City Council seat through Friday at 5 p.m.
A vacancy on the council exists due to the recent death of Richard Anderson.
Anderson was elected to serve a four-year term on the council in November 2007. The person appointed to fill the vacancy will serve the remaining two years in the term until the November 2011 election.
State law requires that City Council members be at least 21 years of age and live in the incorporated limits of the city. This vacancy will be filled by City Council.
Applications can be picked up at city offices at 246 Oak Ave. or downloaded from the Kannapolis Web site, or they can be mailed upon request.
