Man shot on Kenly Street

Police are still searching for a man who shot another man in the leg after an argument on Kenly Street around 1 p.m. today.
Cecil William McCauley Sr., 56, was taken to Rowan Regional Medical Center with a gunshot wound in the upper right thigh. He was found conscious and has remained awake while talking with detectives at the hospital this afternoon.
Authorities said McCauley and another man were arguing in the driveway beside 1201 Kenly Street, off North Long Street. At some point during the argument, the other man pulled out a handgun and shot McCauley, who does not live at 1201 Kenly Street, police said.
The man who fired the shot then fled. Officers were searching the area this afternoon with the aid of a police dog.
The suspect was described as a young black male who is about 6 feet tall and weighs about
165 pounds.
