Parents charged with child abuse

The parents of a 3-month-old child have been charged with child abuse.
The infant sustained a broken tibia (a bone in the leg) prompting an investigation.
Rowan Sheriff’s Office investigators charged David Lee Uber, 26, of 1115 Inglewood Lane, with felony child abuse inflicting serious bodily injury. He remains in the Rowan County Detention Center with bond set at $15,000.
The child’s mother, Jessica West, 18, of 12455 U.S. 52, Gold Hill, was charged with misdemeanor child abuse. She was released on a written promise to appear in Rowan County District Court.
