Cartucci’s owner said he plans to have the restaurant back open as soon as he sorts out a couple of things.
Ted Aur0ra, who owns Cartucci’s Italian Restaurant on East Fisher Street downtown, said his chef took another job and he has to find a new one.
A sign on the restaurant’s door Thursday said Cartucci’s was closed until further notice. Efforts to reach Aurora Thursday were unsuccessful, but he called the Post Friday.
“I don’t anticipate it being too long,” he said about the temporary closing. He said he needs to find the right chef for the restaurant’s menu and sort out some things with his insurance company.
Aurora said having a good chef is vital, adding that he’s gone through three chefs since the restaurant reopened last summer after a fire in July 2013 shut the business down.
Aurora also owns The Grapevine, a wine bar just around the corner on South Main Street. He said it will also be closed until the issues are resolved.
