Schools on two-hour delay Friday due to cold

The Rowan-Salisbury School System will be operating on a two-hour delay for students and a one-hour delay for staff Friday due to low temperatures.
Kannapolis City Schools will be on a two-hour delay for students. Staff will report at the regular time.
School officials advise parents to take extra precautions in assuring that children are dressed warmly, including hats and gloves, and that they remain in warm while waiting for school buses.
The National Weather Service is forecasting a low of 9 degrees overnight tonight. Friday’s high is expected to be around 29 degrees, but with wind chills as low as zero, according to the Weather Service.
All Rowan-Salisbury after school activities for today and Friday will proceed on a normal schedule, an email from the school system said.
