No arrest has been made as of Wednesday, a day after a Charlotte man was shot at the intersection of North Shaver Street and Park Avenue.

Cordera Rayshard Brown, 27, was shot and received help from two residents at 512 Park Ave., who took him by private car to Novant Health Rowan Medical Center. Police Capt. Shelia Lingle said Brown received one gunshot wound to the shoulder.

The shooting occurred at 12:35 p.m. Brown was treated at Novant and transferred by ambulance to Carolinas Medical Center.  CMC officials say Brown has been discharged.

Brown was with a woman and both walked to a home and couldn’t get help from the occupants and then they went to the Park Avenue house to ask for help. Someone at the home called police.

She said the shooting was not a random crime and the victim and the suspect argued before the shooting occurred.

Lingle said Brown is from Salisbury but currently lives in Charlotte. The shooting was the second in five days. Police were called to a March 20 shooting at a South Main Street boarding house. No arrest has been made in that incident as well.

Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact the Salisbury Police Department at 704-638-5333 or Crime Stoppers at 1-866-639-5245. These calls can be made anonymously.
