Educator and consultant Dr. Francis Koster will speak Tuesday, April 14, on the topic, “Communities Breathe Easier: Air Quality Success Stories,” at the Center for the Environment building on the Catawba College campus.

His presentation, scheduled for 6:30 p.m., is free and open to the public, but registration is required.

Koster received his doctorate from the Program for the Study of the Future at the University of Massachusetts.  He has worked in college administration, solar and wind energy and electronic medical data.

In addition to his consulting practice, Koster writes newspaper columns explaining problems facing America and introducing the reader to replicable, proven solutions already in place in U.S. communities.  These columns have been turned into a book called, “Discovering The New America – Where Local Communities Are Solving National Problems.” Three more books are due out in the summer of 2015.
