Rowan Sheriff’s Office: Couple, other adults charged with allowing teens to drink alcohol during card game

Rowan authorities charged a Gold Hill couple and other adults with allowing a group of teens to drink alcohol during a card game.
The teens, whose ages range from 14 to 17, were playing card games, as were the adults. Some of these games, officials said, involved drinking. The incident occurred Thursday at the home of one of the parents. Authorities received a phone call about it and investigated.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office charged the following:
• Christopher Sebastian, 37, of the 18000 block of Old Beatty Ford Road, Gold Hill, with four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor;
• Sarah Sebastian, 27, also of the 18000 block of Old Beatty Ford Road, with four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor;
• Connie Stegall, 26, of the 7000 block of Jones Road, Salisbury, with four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor;
• Jeremy Stegall, 30, with four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor; and
• Danielle Baylis, 29, of the 100 block of Cliff Eagle Road, Salisbury, with four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
All of the adults were given a written promise to appear in court June 11.
Christopher Sebastian was convicted in 2007 of misdemeanor driving while license revoked, according to the N.C. Department of Corrections.
Jeremy Stegall was convicted in 2009 of misdemeanor driving while impaired, No conviction records were listed for the others, corrections department records show.
