Daugherty just missed pitching a perfect game in Carson’s 2-0 playoff win at Southern Guilford last Monday. The senior right-hander retired the first 20 batters he faced before allowing an infield single with two outs in the seventh. Daugherty struck out 10.
A win the next night against South Rowan allowed Carson to reach the fourth round of the postseason for the first time.
