Order of the Arrow will celebrate 75th anniversary May 30

SALISBURY — All Order of  the Arrowmen, past and present, are being invited to the 2015 Rowan Order of the Arrow Chapter 75th Anniversary Party and Reunion.

The event will be held from 6-8 p.m. May 30 at the St. John’s Lutheran Church retreat property, located at 350 Mockingbird Lane, Salisbury.

Those who will attend are being asked to contact Aaron Moore, chapter adviser at pdk9nero@aol.com, or Henry Fairley IV, assistant chapter adviser, at hfairley@bellsouth.net.

A meal will be served, so organizers need to know how many are coming. This will be a time of fellowship and reconnecting with lodge brothers.

Membership in the Order of the Arrow recognizes those who exemplify Scouting’s values, promoting responsible outdoor adventure, developing young leaders and crystallizing the Scout habits of helpfulnes and cheerful service to others.

The Order of the Arrow was founded in 1915, which means it is celebrating 100 years of service. The local Council Lodge, Itibapishe Iti Hollo #188, was founded in 1940 and turned 75 years Jan. 15.
