On Thursday, June 11 at 7:30 p.m., Center for Faith and the Arts features the combined works of visual artist Steven Jordan and composer Brent Lawrence, graduates of Pfeiffer University.

“Questioning, Answers, and Understanding” is an interactive experience that pairs Lawrence’s original musical compositions with five mixed media works created by Jordan.

Jordan’s pieces interpret Plato’s Allegory of the Cave in a modern format. Lawrence’s compositions, created in response to Jordan’s work, will be performed by violinist Charles Shafer and pianist Joshua Nobles.

Lawrence is a composer, arranger and guitarist currently residing in Winston-Salem.  He holds a BA in guitar performance from Pfeiffer University, and is currently pursuing a MM in composition at UNC School of the Arts.

Jordan earned a degree in art at Pfeiffer with a concentration in mixed media. He currently resides in Lexington where he pursues inward and outward reflection through mixed media. Jordan’s work not only expresses his reflective pursuits, but also invites his audience to question and reflect on their life experiences.
