Macedonia Missionary guest speaker

Pastoral candidate, the Rev. Tommy Walker, will be the guest speaker for the 11 a.m. service Sunday at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.

 

Spencer Presbyterian guest preacher

SPENCER — The Rev. Dr. Sandra Kern will be guest preacher at Spencer Presbyterian Church Sunday at 11 a.m. Before retiring, Dr. Kern served churches in North Carolina and Texas, most recently Thyatira Presbyterian Church in Mill Bridge. Spencer Presbyterian Church is located on 1st Street off Salisbury Avenue across from the entrance to the North Carolina Transportation Museum.

 

Erwin Temple honors Rev. Hannah

The ninth pastoral anniversary of Rev. Ervin L. Hannah Jr. will be observed on Sunday at Erwin Temple Church. The morning message will be given by Rev. Hannah, and the Spiritual Choir will sing. Lunch will be served beginning at 1:30 p.m. Afternoon service for the pastor’s anniversary celebration will begin at 3 p.m. Guest minister will be the Rev. Omar L. Dykes, pastor of St. John CME Church of Winston-Salem.

Northside CoGoP celebrates pastors’ anniversary

Services honoring Bishop James and Brenda Lott’s 39th church anniversary will be Sunday at 11 a.m. at Northside Church of God of Prophecy on Long Street. Speaker is Minister Mary A. Young, associate minister at Northside. The 4 p.m. speaker will be James Mclendon, pastor of the Thomasville Church of God of Prophecy.

 

Men’s Day at New Hope AME Zion

New Hope AME Zion Church will celebrate its annual Men’s Day on Sunday at 3 p.m.

Guest speaker will be the Rev. Dr. David Bracken, pastor of Jerusalem Baptist Church. Dr. Bracken holds a bachelor of science degree from the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio;   a master of divinity degree from Shaw University Divinity School; and a doctorate of ministry from Drew University.

 Dr. Bracken has pastored Jerusalem Baptist Church in Spencer since 2001. Under his leadership a new sanctuary was built and the old church sanctuary was converted into a functioning fellowship hall. He was instrumental in establishing the first Jerusalem Baptist Church tutorial program and computer lab.

 The men’s choir of Jerusalem Baptist Church and the community men’s choir will provide the music. Host  pastor is the Rev. Dr. Debra J. Hall.

 

 God’s Tabernacle for Believers Men’s Day 

ROCKWELL — The men of  God’s Tabernacle for Believers, 304 W. Main St., will host their annual Men’s Day program on Sunday at 3 p.m. Guest speaker will be Joseph Robinson, senior pastor of New Creation Baptist Church in Statesville. The Rev. Reginald D. McConneaughey Sr. is host pastor. 

 

Rhema Praise and Worship Church choir anniversary

On Sunday at 3:30 p.m. Rhema Praise and Worship Church choir will celebrate its fourth anniversary. The theme is “Withholding Nothing.” Guest speaker is the Rev. Curtis L. Cummings of New Shepherd Baptist Church in Cooleemee.

 

Men’s Day at Love Christian Center

EAST SPENCER — Love Christian Center, 102 N. Long St., will observe its annual Men’s Day on Sunday at 4 p.m. The speaker will be the Rev. Appreciation service for Elder Susong
Mt. Calvary Holy Church, 1400 Standish St., will hold an appreciation service honoring Elder Charles E. Susong on Sunday at 5 p.m. The guest speaker will be Bishop Elvin Mickens Sr. of Mt. Calvary Holy Church Family Worship Center in Concord. Host pastor is Bishop Harvey L. Rice.

St. Matthew’s Lutheran guest speaker 

Neal Wilkinson will be the guest singer at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. Wilkinson is known for his singing of the National Anthem for the past ten years for the Charlotte Knights baseball team, as well as major league teams such as the New York Mets, Baltimore Orioles, Phoenix Diamondbacks, Cincinnati Reds and Boston Red Sox. In addition, he has sung for ACC basketball games at NC State, ACC baseball games, American Legion baseball, NASCAR, and local Sportscasters events. Currently he is singing to share the gospel and has released two gospel albums. He is an active member of the Sanctuary Choir at First Baptist Church, as well as St. John’s Men’s Chorus in Salisbury.

Men’s Day at Rose of Sharon

On Saturday, June 20 at 11 a.m. Rose Of Sharon Holiness Church, 255 Camp Road, will hold Men’s Day. Guest speaker will be Perry Dye, pastor of Henderson Grove Baptist Church. Lewis Walker is the host pastor.
