Police officials say a Salisbury man was issued a criminal summons earlier this week, charging him in the death of a motorcyclist killed in a Majolica Road wreck in March.
Emergency officials responded to the two-vehicle crash, March 8, after a Nissan Pathfinder and the motorcyclist collided.
Charles Keith Freeman, 62, of Salisbury, died at the scene. The driver of the vehicle, Michael Bryant Stewart, 53, of the 100 block of Norris Drive, was charged Wednesday with misdemeanor death by vehicle.
Since Stewart was issued a criminal summons to appear in court, he was not booked into the Rowan County Detention and did not received a bond. He is expected in court June 18.
Police have said the Nissan was traveling north on Majolica Road and attempted to turn into a driveway on Majolica Road when he turned into the path of Freeman, who was traveling southbound.
