The Kannapolis Intimidators scored six runs in the fourth inning and beat the visiting Greensboro Grasshoppers 7-6 on Thursday.

Christian Stringer had four hits for Kannapolis (29-31) and drove in two runs.

Luis Martinez (2-6) earned his first win on the mound since May 5. He worked five innings, allowing three runs on six hits. He walked one and struck out one.

Greensboro (25-35) took a 3-0 lead in the third inning. With Mason Davis on third, Brian Schales singled up the middle, scoring the first run of the game. After a K.J. Woods double off the right-field wall, Rodrigo Vigil singled up the middle to score two runs.

Kannapolis plated its first run in its half of the third to make it 3-1. After John Ziznewski singled and Eddy Alvarez walked, Christian Stringer doubled home a run.

In the fourth inning, the Intimidators exploded to take a 7-3 lead.

With the bases loaded, Michael Mader walked John Ziznewski to force home run. Then Alvarez knocked in two runs with a single to left field and Stringer singled home a run. After a sacrifice fly by Louie Lechich, Alexander Simon capped the big inning by singling home Stringer.

The Grasshoppers scored two runs in the seventh and one in the eighth but failed to tie the game in the ninth.

Brad Salgado pitched two innings of relief for the Intimidators before Matt Cooper earned his sixth save. Cooper struck out three in two innings.

The Intimidators begin a four-game road trip at Delmarva on Friday at 7:05 p.m.

Right-hander Thad Lowry (6-2, 3.88 ERA) takes the mound for Kannapolis against righty Matthew Grimes (4-3, 4.64).
