It’s going to be a warm week, but nothing like the heat wave we had in June.

We’re in a more typical summer pattern now, except we desperately need rain and the spotty showers predicted won’t be enough to ease the drought.

Today is going to be warm and a bit muggy, with a high of 88 under mostly sunny skies. There’s a 30 percent chance of showers, mainly after 4 p.m., but none will amount to more than a 10th of an inch. West southwest winds will be at 5-8 mph.

Tonight, expect more scattered showers, mostly before 9 p.m., then a low of 67.

Tuesday, the chance of rain drops to 20 percent, mainly in the afternoon. Patchy fog is possible before 8 a.m.  It will be mostly sunny again, with a high of 91. The same chance of rain lingers into the evening, with a low of 69.

Again on Wednesday there’s a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3 p.m. We’ll see more sun and a high of 91. The night will be calm, with a low of 68.

No rain is expected through the weekend, unless weather patterns change.

Thursday will be partly sunny and hot, 93. The low will be 70.

Friday will be mostly sunny and warmer, with a high of 94. The low will be 70 again. Saturday will be a duplicate of Friday.

Sunday, the heat climbs to 95 degrees under mostly sunny skies.
