Don and Juanita Heglar celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary at Childress Vineyards in Lexington on Saturday, June 6, 2015. They were the first couple to be wed by Jack Hodges at Canaan Baptist Church in Salisbury on June 27, 1965.
Don retired from Heglar Electric and Cone Mills, and Juanita retired from Cato Corporation.
They have three children: Dwayne Heglar and wife Annie from Mooresville, Shawna Heglar from Columbia, S.C., and Jenine Jones and husband Elbe from Woodleaf. They have two grandchildren, Nicholas and Mackenzie.
In celebration the Heglars will share time with family at Fripp Island, S.C.
