Seth Moore filed Monday to run for a seat on the Landis Board of Aldermen.

The 23-year-old Landis native said his priorities include the revitalization of Landis while maintaining a fiscally conservative budget.

“Although I may seem young, I’ve lived in Landis my entire life and I want to contribute in providing long-term, positive benefits for our town and its citizens,” he said.

Moore is an anti-money-laundering and global financial crimes specialist at Bank of America.

He recently graduated from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, where he double majored in economics and peace, war and defense focusing on national and international defense and security.

During college, he interned in the Office of the Governor of North Carolina as an assistant to the advisor of military affairs in the summer of 2013.

Moore attended Landis Elementary School and Corriher-Lipe Middle School. He was valedictorian of his class at South Rowan High School in 2010.

He now serves as an assistant wrestling coach at South Rowan High School.

He is actively involved with Landis Baptist Church, where he is a member, usher and sound and video technician.

Moore has not previously held an elected office.

He is the son of James and Crystal Moore and grandson of Max and Sybil McKinney and Alice Turner. Moore has one sister, McKinney Moore.

Moore lives at 325 Daybrook Drive in Landis.
